TASTING NOTES - LIMITED RELEASES
ALL BLACK IPA
ABV – 6.5% COLOUR – BLACK
This is a hoppy beer! The New Zealand hops give it some fruit salad and lime notes and there is a subtle chocolate character from the roasted wheat malt.
ABV – 6.8% COLOUR – YELLOW
A hopped up pale ale with a very dry finish. This means you can get lots of hops in without feeling like you’re too full of a heavy beer! Passionfruit, citrus and subtle stone fruit characteristics with a clean malt and yeast profile.
BLOOD ORANGE BERLINNER WEISSE
ABV – 3.5% COLOUR – BURNT HAZY YELLOW/ORANGE
A sour wheat beer that has real blood orange juice added into the fermenter! Perfect for summer days drinking as it is seriously refreshing!
ABV – 5.2% COLOUR – COPPER
A malt driven hybrid beer that has Northern Brewer hops and a german yeast strain. Slightly bigger than a larger and less heavy than pale.
ABV – 6.0% COLOUR – COPPER
A hopped up version of a British classic! Gorgeous caramel and toffee malts, lovely stone-fruit esters melt together with Amarillo and Fortnight U.S. hops. Ask about the double dry hopped version.
ABV – 5.5% COLOUR – BLACK
A classic stout with a silkiness from the addition of oats to the mash.
BROWN EYE RYE
ABV – 5.7% COLOUR – BROWN
Our GABS beer with Coco and Rye! Also, it is brown! Lovely nutty, chocolate character makes this beer shine where the sun does not.
CHOC ORANGE PORTER
A beer that delivers your Terry’s Choc-Orange dreams in a glass. Can’t really say much more apart from that if you like orange and chocolate, and you do, you’ll love this voluptuous brew!
ABV: 5.3% IBU: 50 COLOUR: Dark Bruin Malts: Ale, Amber, Chocolate, Roast Malt, Crystal, Munich, some kind of Choc and Orange yummo’s! Hops:Bramling Cross Yeast: American Ale
GRANNY’S CRANNY GOSE - BACCHUS AND WHITE LIES COLLAB
A kettle soured brew that we left at 46 degrees celsius in the kettle overnight to with some Lactobacillus to impart a gentle sourness. We then raised to boil and transferred across to our fermenting tanks and added 200kg of American cranberries to give a new level of tartness and complexity! 65% Wheat in the grist leaves a light and fluffy mouthfeel and the Pink Himalayan salt imparts a subtle sweetness to counter the lactic acid from the bacterium. A wonderfully drinkable and complex beer!

NEW WORLD DARK RYE LAGER
A new world interpretation of an old world beer. The base recipe is a Franconian Schwarzbier, we then peppered it with Hallertau Blanc hops in the kettle and finished off with Ella, Motueka and Mandarina Bavaria for the dry hop. The rye and dark dehusked german malts give a undescribable cola/chocolate/spice flavour that dances around with the lime, white wine and subtle citrus characters from the hops.
ABV: 4.8% IBU: 30 COLOUR: Almost black Malts: German Pils, Munich and Dark Munich. Caraamber and dehusked roasted malt. Hops:Magnum, Hallertau Blanc, Mandarina Bavaria, Ella, Motueka. Yeast: German Pilsner
CHERRY WOOD SMOKED RYE BALTIC PORTER
A dark smooth Porter that has been brewed and conditioned with a German lager strain to ensue a very gorgeous malt profile. Of course, that was only a part of the thinking when planning this beer! We wanted to impart a gentle yet bold smokiness to marry up with the dark fruit characteristics from the fermentation that can arise when using specialized dark crystal in the grist. The result is a wonderfully smooth and complex beer that will age well or drink like a chocolate cigar this winter.
ABV: 8.8% IBU: 40 COLOUR: Dark Brown Malts: German Pils, Cherry wood smoked malt, Rauch Malt, Munich, dehusked roasted malt. Hops:Magnum, Northdown. Yeast: German Pilsner
TRIPLE INDIA PILSNER - CHUR COLLAB
When Mr A.Childs from Chur wanted to brew a beer with us in GBW this year all either of us could think about was hops. A clean malt bill of 100% german pils was really just a platform for 60kg of hops in 2000L of beer. Double dry hopped and only hops in the whirlpool! This is a huge dank and citrus driven beer that you need to drink and forget about the other three ingredients in beer. They are insignificant in this beer.
ABV: 9.6% IBU: 80 COLOUR: Yellow Malts: German Pils Hops:Magnum, Azzaca, Waimea, Galaxy. Yeast: German Pilsner
SAFFRON IN MY RYE - BELGIAN IPA
This beer utilizes a spicy Belgian yeast strain, which imparts cloves and bubblegum whilst the rye gives a spicey peppery note. Coriander seeds add a unique orange character which blends in with the three citrusy hops, Waimea, Summit and Azzaca. The Saffron makes it fluorescent yellow! Oh yeah!
